end from the south. Another
"code" door was added on the first
floor of the north end to control
entrance to that side of the build-
ing and an additional code door
was added to the south end of the
building. Having two separate
back doors will allow the men and
women to have separate-codes.
The staffing is different as well.
Alan and Blandi Thomas were .
hired as co-directors each to di-
rect the activities for their respec-
tive sexes. In addition two male
resident assistants have been hired
to provide assistance to the male
students on the north end of the
building. Other changes will be
communicated with the residents
who live there.
The housing office with the
help of the dorm directors has
identified other spaces which can
be used to house students on a
temporary or full-time basis.
Some of these spaces include
giving the resident assistants
roommates converting storage or
study rooms to residence rooms
and giving up part of the'directors'
apartments. Some of these are
temporary rooms but most can be
used permanently.
The final option the univer-
sity has for any overcrowding is
to temporarily place students at
Colonial Inn. Although this is a
"last resort" for the students the
administration's desire is that all
students have a clean and livable
residence when they arrive. Ev-
ery effort has been made in hopes
of avoiding this option but if this
becomes necessary the university
is prepared to staff the Colonial
Inn with an RA and to get the
students who are there into dormi-
tory rooms as soon as the rooms
become available.
The university's goal is for all
students to have accommodations
which are suitable and that each
resident be patient as the kinks are
worked out at the beginning of the
semester. If a resident experi-
ences some unforseen difficulties
in their living arrangements they
should first contact their residence
hall director. If the resident needs
further attention they can go by'
the housing office on the second
floor of the Moody Center.

The Freshman Blues
Is there a reason for coming to school? (uh huh)
I finished high school and I thought I was cool.
(uhhuh)
But now I'm faced with a new circumstance and I
don't seem to have a chance.
And now there's upperclassmen to push me around.
(uh huh)
All these fish but no help to be found (uh huh)
My parents told me to "call if you're blue."
I guess I'd better I need a clue.
Well on Monday I was all alone.
On TAiesday the food was making me. moan.
On Wednesday I cried and cried.
But on Thursday I made friends when I tried.
. By Friday I had figured it out that friendship is
what it's all about.
