ning that ho was going to speak on
something that ho did not know any-
thing about. This proved Interesting.
Boforo ho was through it was clear
to tho students who listoned to him
that ho did know something about his
subject.
Tho speaker said that thoro woro
four kinds of conversationalists. Ho
characterized them as "Snails" or
thoso who aro vory slow about saying
anything "Porcupines" or thoso who
have a cutting word at tho tip of tholr
tongue "Agreeable Fellows" or those
who will assent to everything that is
said and never advanco an original
idea and "Garrulous Talkers" or
thoso who talk meroly for tho pleas-
uro thoy got out of it regular human
phonographs.
Prof Richardson oxpressod tho hope
that somo member of tho faculty would
soon speak on this subject affirma-
tively. His speoch was entirely from
tho negative point of view.
