TWO ATTRACTIONS

I3IT0RTANCE OF COMING GAMES.
It Is with tho greatest interest that
tho remaining -games .to bo played at
Simmons aro looked forward to not
only by1 tho Simmons adhorents but
also by1 colleges and universities over
tho state. For theso games will play
a largo part in deciding to whom tho.
Championship roally belongs. It seems
that the records madb by State U. and
Simmons tally closer than those of.
any other collogo or unlvprsity in tho
state. From the statements mado edi-
torially in Tho Texan it appears that
it is a matter of groat rogret on tho
part of- tho Varsity athletic managers
as well as those of Simmons that tho
Cowboys will not havo a chanco to try
their roping ability on 'the Longhorns.
However a fair estimate of tho re-
spective ability of tho two teams may
he made by a review of tho games won
and lost by themj b
Especial interest is centered on the
Baylor games to be played horo on the
21 and 22nd of Fobruary for tho Boars
and tho Longhorns stand oven one
game each (although tho university
quintette held considerably tho big
end of tho scoro. in tho second game)
while Simmons defeated Baylor In two
games with good Bcorcs to their credit.
If tho Cowboys defeat tho Waco men
with marginal' scores it is possible to
tsurmlso that they could throw their
nooso over tho Longhorns.
On tho other hand tho T. C. U.
Fames played -recently at Austin seem
to indicate that tho Longhorns aro
Lecomlng moro proficient in tho art of
goal tossing for they defeated T 0.
V two games by largo scores' while
Ulnimcns' c.cfeated T. C. U. by only
four points.
Therefore the T. C. U. games to bo
played horo tho 25th and 26th of Fob-
ruary will bo another test of tho rela
tive ability of Simmons and State and
perhaps may decldo which team Is en-
titled to bo called tho champion quin-
tette of Toxas.
