Game to be Played After Close of the
Football Season Teams are
Evenly Matched.
Since It will bo but two or three
weeks until the closo of tho football
season the Phllos and Clios are begin-
ning to look over their material for
a society football team. Of course it
has been expected all along that the
two societies would clash in football
this year but everyone agreed that
tho game could not be played until
the closo of the season on account of
it interfering with the practice of the
first team.
Last Friday wcolc the Fhilos
elected Alllster Goodnight captain of
tho Philo football team. Tho society
then voted to send a challenge to tho
Clios for a game to bo played within
a week or two after the closo of the
football season. Tho challenge was
immediately sent in to tho Clios. Tho
Clio .Society was not expecting tho
challenge at that tlmo but tho mem-
bers unanimously voted to accept it
and leavo tho exact date to bo decided
by the captains of tho two teams. Mr.
Reuben Norman was chosen captain
of tho Clio team.
Much discussion is going on as to
tho outcome of tho contest. Those
who are experienced in football be-
lieve it will bo a tight game. The
Society men firmly bellovo that their
respective teams will win it. Tho two
line-ups are evenly matched however.
The Clios have all tho regular back-
field men and one or two men who
play in tho line while tho Phllos have
tho regular lino men and a majority
of the scrub back field.
8ENIORS MAKE CANDY.
On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. Burnham invited tho Senior class
to hold thoir regular meeting in their
homo. Gladly tho Seniors accepted
this invitation and seven-thirty found
the- dignified ones very busy for It
was decided that the pecan hunt
should bo put into candy. Bringing
tho chdfing dish into service it was
not long until a delicious array of
sweets were ready to'bo eaten. Fudge
divinity and date loaf nover tasted
better and needless to say were thor-
oughly enjoyed.
Seated on the floor around the fire
stories and jokes were told. Miss
Morris with her ukolelo proved to be
very popular.
Mrs. Burnham donated a dish of
cookies to the causo and although this
class is rarely ever hungry (?) the
cookies were so good they were Irre-
sistable. Time to go homo came all too soon
but with promises of another bucIi
evening tho class adjourned unablo to
thank this charming host and hostess
enough for this enjoyable evening.
