Singleton has dedicated her ex-
istence to the passionate pursuit of
celebrities and their autographs.
Her passion has also entrapped
her daughter Clssie played by
Regina Feltoti. The husband-
father Harry Is portrayed by
Bruce McBurney. He finally rebels
but he too is swept into Lila's ad-
diction to second-hand fame.
"The Autograph Hound" is set
in Manhattan. Debbie Byram
designed the scenery. Bennett
directs is the costumer for all the
productions and has a part In the

Student electione were held
Thursday April 4 at Moody
Center. This year official ballots
and voting booths were used. The
Abilene County Courthouse con-
tributed the use of the booths as
part of student's learning ex-
perience. Runoff elections will be
April 11.
The first Irvin School of
Education Awards Recaption
will be held Monday April 15
from 7 to 8 p.m. In Moody Center
Room 210.
All scholarships and awards
given through the Irvin School of
Education will be presented. The

The evening is completed with
"The Fifteen Minute Hamlet" by
Tom Stoppard who is one of
England's best comic play writes.
Hukill fills both the direc-
tordesigner positions for this far-
cical vision of Shakespeare's
Hamlet.
The fifteen minute version is
"the best known and best loved
lines from Hamlet in sequential
order." Without redeeming social
or moral significance the play is
sheer fun.
John Neese has the part of
Hamlet and Barb Hendricks is the
love-lorn Ophelia. Debbie Byram
presents Gertrude. The remaining
actors have multiple roles

students and faculty are invited.
The Cowboys Activities Plan-
ning Committee saluted Ray
Alvarez as the first pizza homerun
winner of the season. Every per-
son attending the HSU baseball
games has the opportunity to win
a pizza following an HSU
homerun. The next home game
will be April 12.
CAC is planning a square
dance for April 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The dance will be held on the
balcony on the second floor of
Moody Center. The caller will be
Joe Wilson.

Reynolds will conduct a clinic
for the HSU Concert Band on

Coming to Abilene
Up With People is coming to
the Abilene Civic Center Monday
April 22.
Up With People is an interna-
tional touring show with a cast and
band of 130
They will perform their new hit
"Beat of the Future" which is an
entertaining look at the 21st cen-
tury where today's top hits and
dances are tomorrow's olden
goldies. The show will also Include
floating cities interstellar travel
and even song writing computers
Their colorful costumes songs
and dances have made a tradition
of taking their audiences on a
musical tour around the world

Roteract
The Rotaract Club of Abilene
an International Service Club is
having Its annual membership
drive. Any young men and
women between the ages of 18
and 28 are invited to an Informa-
tional meeting on Monday April
15 in the Living Room of the
ACU Campus Center at 7 p.m.
Rotaract has more than 3500
clubs in over 80 countries with
70000 members. A local Rotary
Club sponsors each Rotaract
Club but the responsibilities of
each club rest with its officers and
members. The purpose of each
Rotaract Club is to develop
leadership and responsible citizen-
ship through service to the com-
munity to advance the cause of

Two new Teacher Loan Pro-
grams are immediately available
to current teachers and students
admitted to and enrolled in
teacher education programs.
Qualified applicants may be eligi-
ble for loans up to $1000 per
semester for four semesters or
$2500 a year for two years.
The Teacher Education Loan
Program (TELP) is designed to.
(1) encourage practicing teachers
to become certified in subject
areas designated by the State
Board of Education as having a
shortage of teachers and (2) to
encourage students enrolled in
teacher education programs to
teach in public schools in Texas. A
student classified as a junior
senior or graduate who graduated
in the top 15 percent of hisher
graduating class has a GPA of
3.0 or above is enrolled at least
half time is a Texas resident and
has been admitted to the teacher
education program may be eligible

Up With People began 15 years
ago with a belief that through song
and dance young people can
communicate their Ideas and
hopes with people everywhere.
They have 5 international casts of
about 125 to 130 college age
students from 19 countries They
travel all over the world and meet
people from these different places.
They stay In the homes of the
local people wherever they go and
are able to experience various
cultures
Since the time they first began
Up With People has traveled to
over 40 different countries and
performed 'n more than 6000
to meet
international understanding and
to promote recognition and ac-
ceptance of high ethical standards
as a leadership quality and voca-
tional responsibility.
The Rotaract Club of Abilene
meets on the first and third Mon-
day of each month September
through May. at 7 p.m. with the
location rotating among the three
universities. The meetings include
business and a variety of pro-
grams. The membership is com-
posed of students from each of the
three universities plus additional
members from the community.
The Rotaract Club is sponsored by
the Rotary Club of Southwest
Abilene.
In the past Rotaract service
for a TELP loan.
The Future Teacher Loan Pro-
gram (FTLP) is designed to en-
courage students to seek certifica-
tion in and to teach subjects
designated by the State Board of
Education as in critical need of
teachers. An undergraduate or
graduate student must qualify for
financial need be a Texas resi-
dent be pursuing a course of
study in a subject area critically in
need of teachers have a GPA of
3.0 or above be enrolled at least
half time and be admitted to the
teacher education program.
Both of these loan programs
may have the loan repayment
cancelled if the participant teaches
the prescribed number of years
Bible study
A special study on the Letters of
John and Revelation will be held
at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church
on Sunday afternoons April 14
through May 19.
Class time will run from 5 until
6:50 p.m. for six consecutive
Sunday afternoons and the class
will be taught by Dr Larry
McGraw of the Logsdon School of
Theology at HSU. The course is
sponsored by the Lay Academy of

Up With People's energetic
style of entertainment has been
acclaimed by audiences
everywhere. They have been
featured at three NFL Super Bowl
hafftimes. Carnegie Hall in New
York the Munich Olympic Games
and St. Peter's Square In Rome.
Up With People is a legend in Its
own decade It Is filled with ex-
citement and it leaves its audience

members plan to travel to Mexico
on a Rotary Internationa Project.
