Banquets picnics nnd sunrise
breakfasts fill the social calendar
to capacity nowadays. Following
Is & brief summary of the social
activities of the past month.
' Delta Thota
LaRue Boyd was announced as
ew president of Delta Theta wo-
men's social club Saturday at the
group's annual spring banquet.
Othor officers are Agnes Tapp
vice president; Janetto Waugh
secretary; Marlnel Henderson reporter-historian;
and Alice Mc-
Corkle sergeant-at-arms. Theme
of the banquet was "The Roaring
20's."
WRA
Ellen Patchett was named the
most valuable member of the Wo-
men's Recreation association for
the year Saturday night at the
WRA spring banquet. Officers for
the coming year were announced
as follows: Pat Power president;
Cris Terry vice-president; Ruth
McBride secretary; Veta MUligan
treasurer; Penna Fowler histor-
ian; and Mary Frances Wauson
publicity director.
KACC Staff
"Garden of Stars" was theme
of the KACC staff banquet held
last night on the patio of Doyle's
afe.

Charlotte Harrison was present-
ed as new president of Ko-Jo-Kai

Along with the merits of spring
comes birds flowers spring fever
and last but not least a few more
engagements and approaching
marriages here on the campus.

Station Console
"The A club's gift of $500 to
radio station KACC should en-
able us to make it one of the best
equipped radio laboratories in the
state or even in the country"
said Lowell Perry head of the
radio division of the speech de-
partment. Everett Ferguson president of
the A club made the presentation
and stated that it had been by a
similar gift by the club in 1050
that KACC was made possible.
The money is to be used to
purchase a console through which
all sound will pass. It will improve
the sound and tone of the station
by replacing about half of the
present equipment according to
Lindsey Gibbons chief engineer
of KACC.
The Texas Conference track and
field meet originated in 1927.
Howard Payne leads the league
with 13 championships; ACC has
won 8 Hardin-Slmmons and Aus-
tin college have one title each.

Tuesday at Fort Phantom Hill

luncheon in the dining room of
the home economics department.

New skipper of Sub T-16 men's
social club Jack Bills was named
at the April 10 banquet of that

Future Teachers of America's
ACC chapter elected officers at a
called meeting May 10. The fol-

Phi Delta Psi
"A Southern Plantation" was
the theme of the Phi Delta Psi
annual spring banquet held in the
Windsor Hotel April 25.
The gala occasion was opened
by president Gary Scott with Mrs.
Richard Palm giving the response.
Mr. Palm gave the invocation.

The Aggie club held their an-
nuul spring steak fry Tuesday
evening at Aggie park located on
the college farm.
Highlight of the evening was
the presentation of next years Ag-
gie club officers which were se-
lected some three weeks ago. John
Eoff is the new president replac-
ing Tim Mason who will graduate
this spring. Dean Morgan is the
vice-president; Dean Howard sec-
retary; and Bland Draper treas.

the ACC campus held its final
business meeting Tuesday evening
following the concert of the Abi-
lene Symphony orchestra.
Primary purpose of the" meeting
was to elect officers for next y.car

Barbara King secretary;
Jean Locker treasurer; and Jim-

the organization upon auditions at.
