I have tested the Brazilian Ftbble Spectacles submitted
to me bv Mr Kewman for Inspection. 1 have examined
tbcm well under my Microscope and Taurmalin Pates
(the only Pebble trier) and foundthemto Le entirely void
of cavities and more tiausparent than the finest of glass-
es. Inaveatthesanellraeexamlcedsome glasses rfp-
recented to surpass all' there and contrary to that repre-
sentation I have discovered that they are porous sod con-
tain small cavities Imperceptible to tbe naked eye and
tberefore I do not consld r them so well calculate! to pro-
tect the eye as those sold bv Mr. Kcwman to which no
giass lenses stand the least comparison.

McNrwiiis. DearSlr: I led great pleasure In cta-
tlog that the Spectacles which I purchased from yon last
Spring ate far superior to any that I have been using dur
lng the last twenty years. Owing to the cons'ant use of
them I find my vition so much improved that 1 can now
occasionally read and write without tbe aid ot glasses.
