Walter Benjamin Drew: Walter Benjamin Drew, 67, died at Veterans Hospital in Lisbon (now
Dallas, Texas) Sunday, June 10, 1956 at 6:32 a.m. following an illness of several months duration. He
was admitted as a patient to the hospital six weeks and six days prior to his death. The funeral was held
Monday at 2 p.m. in First Christian Church of Celina, Texas of which he was a member. Maynard Atkins
officiated services with burial in Cottage Hill Cemetery directed by Helms Funeral Home. Mr. Drew
who had made his home in Celina for a number of years was born October 26, 1888 in Van Alstyne,
Texas, son of the late Charles Melton and Lura Jane Miller Drew. He was a retired farmer and mechanic.
Surviving are a brother, A. E. Drew of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Herley of Los Angeles,
California, Mrs. Jewel Sims of Ft. Worth, Texas and Mrs. Lorene Daniels of Denison, Texas; a half-
brother, Fred J. Hutchings of Alliston, Colorado. Pallbearers were Ed Haun, G. C. Sheets, Ray Grumbles,
S. F. Peterman, Calvin Snodgrass, Morris Baker, Earl Tillerson and C. S. Dennis. (The Celina Record,

Thomas Dudley: Thomas Dudley, 54, son of Mrs. J. R. Dudley of Celina, Texas died at his
home at Gruver, Texas Tuesday morning, February 26, 1957, after a short illness, his death resulting
from a heart attack. Mr. Dudley, who was employed at a cattle ranch, moved there last August. He had
been ill and thought the higher altitude might be beneficial. He was born in Dallas, Texas on December
25, 1902. The funeral is scheduled for 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Dudley M. Hughes Funeral Home
in Dallas, Texas. Burial is to follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Survivors include his wife and three step-
children, Jerry, Lowell and Linda Moon; his mother, Mrs. J. R. Dudley of Celina, Texas; two brothers,
J. R. Dudley Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas and Robert Dudley of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Lee Lowrey

Lillie Belle (Nelson) DuVall: Mrs. Welby DuVall, 48, who grew up in Celina, Texas, suffered
a fatal heart attack last Sunday, August 27, 1955, in her home in Sunray, in the Texas Panhandle. Funeral
services for Mrs. DuVall, the former Miss Lillie Belle Nelson, were held in a Dumas funeral home
Wednesday with burial in a cemetery in Sunray, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Welby DuVall;
three daughters, Mrs. Ray Swafford of Amarillo, Texas and Misses Frances and Marilyn DuVall of New
York City; her mother, Mrs. Stella Nelson of McKinney, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Kate McCoy
and Mrs. H. J. Baxter of McKinney, Texas and Mrs. Bill Manning of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Allen
Nelson of Dallas, Texas and Loren Nelson of Pampa, Texas; two granddaughters. Roy Nelson, Jim
Nelson and Mrs. Claude DuVall of Celina, Texas went to Sunray Monday when they learned of Mrs.

Emley V. Edmonds: Mrs. W. C. Edmonds, 80, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. G.
Cornell in Princeton, Texas, February 21, 1951 after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the
First Baptist Church in Princeton at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. J. B. Burk of Princeton and Rev. G. G.
Burnett of McKinney, Texas officiating. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery. She is survived by six
children, among whom is E. W. Edmonds of Celina, Texas. (The Celina Record, Celina, Texas,
