Jesse and Elizabeth New Finley. He came to Texas in 1969 with his parents and settled near Celina,
Texas in Collin County and grew to manhood here. He was a charter member of the First Methodist
Church in Celina, Texas. In 1890, he and Miss Viola C. Calliham were married and she died in December
of 1937. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W. O. Silk of Frisco, Texas, Mrs. Eldon Earthman of
Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Hilda Pearce of McKinney, Texas; one son, Tom A. Finley of Clovis, New
Mexico; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola

Harrison W. Flanery: Funeral services were being held in Celina Methodist Church this
afternoon for Harrison W. Flanery, 79, a retired farmer who died at his home in Celina, Texas about
3:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 1954. Mr. Flanery had been in bad health for more than a year, immediate
cause of his death was said to have been a stroke. Mr. Flanery was a native of Collin County, having
been born November 13, 1874, on a farm near Weston, Texas, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William B.
Flanery. He was first married on November 27, 1892 to Miss Bettie Mable Owin, who died on November
3, 1913. On February 15, 1919, he and Mrs. Zula Mae Bledsoe were married. She survives. He was a
member of the Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Flanery had lived in Celina at 206 West Maple since
they retired from their farm near Celina several years ago. Conducting the service were Rev. C. B.
Garrett of Greenville, Texas, a former pastor of the Celina church and Rev. Kenneth Thomas, present
pastor. Assisting was Rev. J. T. Bledsoe of the Elmont Community, a Baptist Minister. Interment was
in Cottage Hill Cemetery, directed by Helms Funeral Home. The pallbearers were grandsons of Mr.
Flanery. Survivors are the wife; five sons, Sonny Flanery, Leland Flanery, Clarence Flanery and Byron
Flanery of Dallas, Texas and Hershell Flanery of Celina, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. W. R. Tillerson
and Mrs. Claude Thompson of Celina, Texas; Mrs. Winnie Terrell of Anna, Texas; Mrs. Atlee Tillerson
of Inglewood, California and Mrs. Beulah Floyd of Champaign, Illinois, 25 grandchildren and 22 great-

Leland J. Flanery: Leland J. Flanery, 49, died Friday, September 3, 1954, in a Dallas hospital
after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. He lived at 7219 Concord, Dallas, Texas. Funeral services were
held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sparkman-Brand Chapel, Dallas, Texas with Rev. McLain G. Smith
officiating. A service at the graveside and burial followed at Cottage Hill Cemetery. A native of Celina,
Mr. Flanery had lived in Dallas for the last 30 years. He had been associated with various manufacturers
of printers' rollers since he moved to Dallas and for 15 years had been with Samuel Bingham & Sons
Mfg. Co. He was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church, Dallas Club of Printing House Craftsmen
and Dallas Litho Club. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack and Paschal Flanery, both of Dallas,
Texas; his step-mother, Mrs. Harris Flanery of Celina, Texas; four brothers, Sonny, Byron and Clarence
Flanery all of Dallas, Texas and Hershel Flanery of Celina, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Ida Thompson and
Mrs. Jesse Tillerson, both of Celina, Texas; Mrs. Winnie Terrell of Anna, Texas; Mrs. Beulah Floyd of
White Heath, Illinois, and Mrs. Donna Tillerson of Inglewood, California. (The Celina Record, Celina,

Mary (Short) Flanery: Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Celina,
Texas Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. J. C. Flanery, 67, who died of a heart attack at her home in
Celina at 11:45 p.m. Monday. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, directed by Helms Funeral Home.
Conducting the service was Rev. Alvin Rue of McKinney, Texas assisted by Rev. N. L. Glasco, pastor
of the First Methodist Church of Celina, Texas. Pallbearers were Raymond Huddleston, W. W. Kindle,
Ben Brewer, C. G. McKnight, Alex Glendenning, Tom Glendenning, Grover Rue and Glen Phillips. Mr.
