to the ground most of them north-
wewt of town. All were old aband-
oned rigs it was said and of little
consequence as a financial lots.
One heavy screen window was dis-
placed from thft Burch hotel and
crashed to roof of Uie third floor
of the building.
One row was killed at the Hayre
dairy about one mile north of
town when a roof from onn of
the milking barns was torn from
Uie building. Mr Hayre' father
was In the barn at the time but
escaped unhurt. It was said
A man had to be stationed in
the northwest part of Hreckcn-
ridge. where telephone wires wero
torn looso to keep automobile drlv

States of America Jefferson Davis.

In 1S03 not far from the teputed
birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. The
two men had a somewhat similar
physical appoarance and this has
led to some gotulp among histor-
ical researches in the past quarter
of a century.
