The death of Mrs. W. P. Way-
land, of this city occurred at
Temple laut Monday afternoon
after anllness of seypral weeks
duration. The cause of her death
was a complication of troubles, it
seems, and hor suffering was in-
tonse, though she bore it with
great patience. The funeral ser-
vices weru hold at the residence
of Mrs. Wayland's Bister, Mrs,
Courtney, Temple, and the inter-
ment was in the city cemetery.
Services were conducted by Rev.
P. W. O'Malloy, of Temple and
Rev. A. R. Lawrence, of Granger.
Deceased was a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, S. Y. Shoemaker, of
this place, and they, with two
dauchtors. Mrs. Will Lawrence
and Mias Ollie Shoomakpr, were
with her during hor illness. Mrs.
Wayland was 10 years of age,
and was a kind Christian lady,
loved by all. It is indeed sad to
seeone just ontqring womanhood,
called to her reward. To the be-

Death at Donahoe.
' On last Saturday at his home,
near Donahoe Mr, W. S. Jonea,
and aged and highly rospooted
oitizen of that community, died
after .an illness of about two
months. Deceased was a broth-

Yesterday about noon, at tho
school building, while tho little
daughter, aged, about 10, of Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Whitfield was
attempting to get in a buggy she
fell, one of her limbs going be-
tween the spokes; the horse
started with tho buggy, and as
a result the limb wag badly brok-
en in two plaoes between the
knee and anklo.;

They were moving with their
household goods from Gooseneck
to the Eubunks place, and as
they were orOoslng the bridge
near Mr. Vernon's a horse of Os-
car Vernon run away with him,
going toward the bridge. This
frightened the mules of Mr.
Graves and thoy run backward;
puBhing tho wagon off the bridge,
whioh is about 20 feet high.
When this ooourred( tho Vernon
brothers went to the scene at
once, only to una tno wagon,
household goods, Mr, Vernon and
his daUghTelrg,fmules all in
a heap in the bottom of the creek
the wafeon and goods being
piled in a mass upon the oocu-
pants and teaift. -They succeeded
in raising the wagon up and" re-,
leased Mr. Porter, and Ilia daugh-
ter and the mules from the ruins.
The daughter was bruised con-
siderably but not seriously hurt,
but Mr, Graves was unoo'nsoious,
and remained so for several days. '
Ho waB taken to Mr. Vernon's
home and medical aid summoned.
Tho extent,of his injuries were
ascertained at the time.the Trib-
