Abilene Christian College
need of just such advantages as we are now offering in this
course. Their opportunities for gaining an education have been
limited, and they now feel that they cannot spare the time to
attend an entire nine month's session. But they can spend
a month or two in school each winter. This course is arranged
for their benefit.
During this course you will be admitted to any of the regular
classes, and other classes will be arranged to suit your needs.
If you aim to attend this course, be sure to write us, and tell us
what studies you wish to take up.
If you want to remain longer than the nine weeks, we will
continue your classes.
Primary and Intermediate Departments
Miss Etta Wagstaff, Principal.
In these departments the foundation for an education is
laid. Very few teachers do satisfactory work in these departments.
We are pleased to announce to the public that we have
secured the services of Miss Etta Wagstaff as Principal of these
Departments. It is believed that in this line of work she has
no superiors. She is scholarly and experienced, and an excellent
Christian. She will be assisted by competent instructors as the
needs may require.
Teacher Training Course
We put special stress on this course. The State grows
more exacting in its demands on the teacher, and rightly so.
Hence, you must have special preparation if you would pass the
examinations, and secure a certificate to teach. We give you the
necessary training. At the close of last session four of our
students took the examination and all secured certificates.
We have as near as we could conveniently do so arranged
the three years' work in our Teachers' Course with reference to
the three grades of certificates issued by the State.
Students completing this course are awarded Diplomas.10
