Students who live with their parents or with a close relative, or Student Affairs
students whose health condition demands special services and living
conditions, may be approved for off-campus residence. Students, other
than those living with their parents, must have the approval of the Dean
of Students before off-campus living will be approved.
All students applying for admission to university housing must forward
to the Admissions Office a deposit of $25.00 (along with room
application) which will be held as security for damages. Any unused
portion will be refunded on request within one year after withdrawal or
graduation. In no case will any of the deposit be refunded until the
student has cleared all his financial obligations to the university. Three
days are required to process the refund.
ROOM ASSIGNMENTS ARE MADE AND CONTRACTS SENT
BEFORE JULY 1, FOR THE FALL SEMESTER. OTHERS WILL
BE PROCESSED AND SENT BEFORE STUDENTS ARE TO
ARRIVE ON CAMPUS. CONTRACTS ARE TO BE COMPLETED
AND RETURNED TO THE OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF
STUDENTS.
REQUEST FOR CANCELLATION OF A ROOM ASSIGNMENT
IS TO BE SENT TO THE OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS.
STUDENTS WHO CANCEL THEIR CONTRACT AFTER
AUGUST 1, FOR THE FALL SEMESTER OR JANUARY 1, FOR
THE SPRING SEMESTER WILL FORFEIT THEIR ROOM
DEPOSIT.
Any resident student who finds it necessary to arrive prior to the
opening of the residence hall (either at the beginning of a semester or at
the end of any holiday period) must make his own arrangements for
housing and meals.
Students who live on campus contract for room and board in the
Howard Payne University residence halls and assume responsibility for
the payment thereof at the rates established by the University. Any
resident who moves from a hall without official permission is held
financially responsible for the full financial term agreed upon between
the resident and the University.
The rental period for the residence hall covers one term, which ends
with the last day of finals. It does not include holidays, or the days
between semesters. The halls will be closed during the University
recesses.
Residents who request to occupy rooms at less than capacity (and the
room is available) may be granted approval by the Resident Director
and then pay the additional rent of $10.00 per month to the Business
Office.
The Women's residence halls (Hodge and Jennings) close Monday
through Thursday at 11:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday. 29
