An exploration of specific problems in various media. Course contents and media to be determined
by the instructor's personal interest, and listed in the appropriate schedule of classes.
FOREIGN STUDY
5301. (Department and Topic of Study to be Designated).
A student may earn up to six semester hours of graduate credit by taking the course twice, each time
with a different topic of study. Graduate credit will be given only if the study is evaluated by a
professor in the department in which the student desires credit, and only if the student obtains the
approval of his graduate advisor prior to his enrolling in the course.

A survey of medieval and Renaissance French literature in modern French translation. Offered fall
semester, odd numbered years.
5382. Classical French Literature.
A general survey of seventeenth and eighteenth century French literature. Offered spring semester,
even numbered years.
5383. Nineteenth Century French Literature.
A general survey of nineteenth century French literature. Offered spring semester, odd numbered
years.
