2. Fourteen semester hours in Bible. Transfer students should
do one-tenth of the work done in Abilene Christian College in Bible.
3. Twelve semester hours in English (freshman and sophomore
English).
4. Six hours of mathematics, except that second year Latin or
one year of Greek may be substituted for mathematics.
5. Twelve hours in physical or natural science. Women students
may offer six hours of home economics in lieu of six hours of
science but must have six hours in a laboratory science.
6. Twelve hours in foreign language if built on two years of
high school language; fifteen hours if a new language is begun in
college.
7. Six hours of American history, or six hours of government,
or six hours in general social science.
8. Major field requirements:
a. Art Major.
(1) Minor: Bible, a modern language, English history, public
speaking, education, or home economics.
(2) Four hours of applied art, or Art 221 and 222 and two hours
of applied art.
(3) Art 311,312, 313, 320, 354, 370, 380, and 385.
b. Bible Major.
(1) Minor: English, a foreign language, Christian education,
music, socialogy, speech, education, or home economics.
(2) Four hours of speech.
(3) Six hours of Christian education, including 360.
(4) Bible 311, 312; 321, 322; 370 or 390; 371; 373 or 374; 384.
c. Biblical Language (Greek Major).
(1) Minor: English, history, Bible, Christian education, or education.(2) Three hours of public speaking.
(3) Greek 371, 381.
(4) Recommended: Hebrew 371, 372.
d. English Major.
(1) Minor: Foreign language, history, music, public speaking,
or Bible, except that twelve hours of history and six hours
of public speaking may constitute a minor.
(2) Freshman English prerequisite to all other English and
must be done during the freshman year.
(3) Sophomore English prerequisite to all literature courses.
(4) Eighteen hours of advanced English, including English
351, 352, 361, and 362.
e. History Major.
(1) Minor: Education, English, business administration, foreign
language, Bible, or physical education.
(2) History 315, 316, or 313, 314 and 321, and 322.
f. Mathematics Major.
(1) Minor: Education, chemistry, music, biology, physical education,
