Student Health
The proper care and development of the body is just as important
in the all-round liberal education as is the care and proper
training of the mind. Abilene Christian College is making a special
effort to look after the health of its students. The faculty includes
a medical doctor, and a graduate nurse, who teaches the physical
education classes for young ladies. In addition to the special coaches
of athletics, all of whom maintain a high standard of Christian
ideals, the director of the Healt1 and Physical Education department
is a specialist in the field of physical education for men.. Ample
provision is made for the physical welfare of students.
The Responsibility of the College
In case of the serious injury or illness of students, parents are
notified, and the college physician and nurse may be used. Should
the parent or student want other physicians or nurses, the College
has no objection; but it has no financial or other obligation in such
a case.
No student, parent, teacher, or coach has any authority to
charge or have charged to the College any medical or other such
bill, even though the student may have been hurt while representing
the College. Any physician, dentist, nurse, or other practitioner
rendering service to such injured or sick student is hereby notified
that he must look to the student or his or her parents for remuneration,
unless the bill is approved in advance by the president of the
College or his representative.
Students who take part in football, basketball, track or any
other activity in college life do so at their own risk. There is some
danger of being hurt while engaged in any kind of activity, and the
College has made good provision to care for its sick and injured,
but it is not responsible financially or otherwise except in so far as
the accident, injury or sickness is due to its negligence.
The Demonstration School
The Demonstration School is organized into three divisions: the
Elementary school (grades one to six inclusive), the Junior high
school (grades seven to nine inclusive), the Senior high school
'grades ten and eleven). Tuition is as follows:

Junior High School
Tuition per month --------.........._$5.00
Senior High School
