Maynet Thomas Baley loan fund with a gift of $500, honoring her
daughter, Mrs. Clarence E. Baley, who is Associate Professor of
English in Abilene Christian College.
The Harley Woodward Fund For Christian Evangelism.-Mrs.
E. F. Woodward of Houston, Texas, has recently established in Abilene
Christian College the "Harley Woodward Foundation for Christian
Evangelism." This is primarily a loan fund to assist young
people to attend Abilene Christian College so that they may better
prepare themselves for Christian work in the church. This money
is loaned to worthy students-members of the church-at a low
rate of interest.
The accumulated interest from this foundation becomes a
scholarship fund to assist orphans and other very worthy students,
who are preparing to give themselves wholly to the work of the
church, in order that they may attend Abilene Christian College.
This fund is administered by a committee composed of the vicepresident,
the dean, and the bursar of the college.
Placement Service
The College operates a placement service for students for the
purpose of assisting them to secure employment. Assistance is
given students in securing teaching positions, commercial or industrial
positions, positions for summer work, and part-time employment
while in school. The placement office seeks to place the registrants
in positions for which they are qualified. To this end, credentials
for the registrants are kept on file in the office and made available
to prospective employers, and an attempt is made to bring the
applicant who is qualified for a particular position into contact with
the employer who needs his services.General Information
