The work of each quarter will, as far as possible, be complete
within itself. A student may, therefore, enter at the beginning of
any quarter and do the full amount of work for the quarter.
A first class academy is maintained for those who are not
ready to enter college. The academy work is outlined in another
section of the catalog.
All applicants for admission to the College of Arts must
satisfy the following conditions:
1. The applicant must be at least sixteen years of age.
2. The applicant must present a certificate of scholarship to
meet the requirements indicated under "Scholarship Requirements."3. The applicant must pledge himself not to encourage or
participate in hazing or class rushes during his college course.
4. The applicant must sign the following pledge with reference
to secret organizations:
Pledge: Upon my honor I certify that I will not join, or allow my
name to be used in connection with any organization named or unnamed,
not approved by the faculty.
I further affirm that I will not, while a student of Abilene Christian
College, advise others to join, nor will I aid in any way the continuance of
any such organization passing under any name or sign, written or unwritten,
not approved by the faculty.
I further agree in case I should disregard my pledge with reference to
such organizations that all my rights and privileges as a student will thereby
be forfeited.30
