SESSION OF 1917-'18
several programs, some of which were out of town. It is our purpose
to make at least two trips during the coming year.
CHORAL CLUB
This organization is composed of young men and women under
the excellent direction of Miss Phillips, who also directs the Glee
Club. The club furnishes some splendid music for our friends.
ORCHESTRA
All students who play orchestral instruments by note are urgently
requested to bring them along. There is nothing that will add to the
pleasures of student life more than a good orchestra. With Miss Kercheville
to direct the success of the organization is assured.
THE A CLUB
The membership of this club is based entirely upon merit. Only
those students who win honors for A. C. C. in athletics or forensics
are permitted to belong to the club. In addition to skill and ability
each student who gets an A and is entitled to membership in the A
Club, must be of high moral standing. A failure to live up to these
ideals in after life forfeits the membership and the individual will be
required to return his letter. The letters will be awarded commencement
morning of each year. One of the great honors of the school
is membership in this Club.
M. ZELLNER LITERARY SOCIETY
This society is composed of both boys and girls. It was organized
at the beginning of the 1913-'14 session, and has done excellent work
during the four years. The programs are varied and offer an excellent
opportunity to those who avail themselves of the opportunities. Inquiries
may be directed to Albert Walls, Clyde, Texas, or to Miss
Dora Ayres, Rowden, Texas.
JAS. A. HARDING LITERARY SOCIETY
This society was also organized at the beginning of the 1913-'14
session, and is composed of both boys and girls. The excellency of this
society is shown by the honors it has won. Inquiries may be directed
to Lee Coffman, Potosi, Texas or to Miss Gladys Arledge, Abilene,
Texas.13
