4H CLUB NEWSBOYS
IDEA OF 4H
A New York boy became interested
in 4H club work and decided
to join a group A friend
asked him what he expecttd to
get out of it I expect to have
some fun and learn more about
farming by practicing under expert
supervision
The boy now in club work long
enough to get a good taste of it
gives his present view of what
club work is worth
I beMeve that one of the greatest
benefits 1 have received from
club work is the ability in a
small degree to work and cooperate
with others he says
This pulling together has not
been in work alone but In play
also 1 have learned to encourage
Club members and keep them Interested
and working for the
Club I have learned how to meet
people have a good time and then
go back to work when the time
comes
Participating in group activities
soon taught me the importance
of fair play playing the game
hard and yet keeping up the
spirit of friendly competition I
have learned to be friendly and
treat the other felow as an equal
I have receied many other
benefits from 4H Club work 1
have learned how to raise manage
and show sheep swine dairy
cattle and poultry The raising of
potatoes and planning and growing
a garden have been rqade
easier Project work has made it
plain that it pays to keep good
stock and take good care of it
and also plant good seed Through
I 4H Club influence I with the help
of my brothers improved the
home and home yard This taught
me to take better rare of the
