The small settlement 16 miles
N.E. of La Grange, on Hwy. 237,
was known at first as Townsend,
then as Jones Post Office, and,
finally, as Round Top the home of
Henkel Square.
Henkel Square claims a painstakingly
restored and furnished
collection of early Texas structures
with handcrafted nineteenth century
decorative arts.
It is considered one of the
nation's finest restorations of AngloAmerican
and German culture of
the period. Guided tours 7 days a
week from noon to 5 p.m.
