suffered by these historic buildings. Determined to make the
best of a bad situation, institutional staff are devoted to turning
these events into an opportunity. They will do this by taking
advantage of the need for repair or exhibit closures to make
long-term improvements. Ultimately, staff at Bayou Bend, the
McFaddin-Ward House, and the W. H. Stark House are grateful
that the damage was not worse and that these important historic
resources can continue to serve their communities for
years to come. *
