CATHOLICS SAY
Cheating God
YOU WERE JUST GOING to
measure out the coffee for dinner
when a jolt of memory brought
you to a halt That doctors
prescription I forget to pick it
up at the drugstore and Im
supposed to take the medicine
before dinner
You rush to the front door
and glance out the window
Some children from the neighborhood
aro playing in the street
You swing open the door and
call to them
A small boy comes running
up to you Its Joey PetriH He
ought to be reliable And so you
tell him what you want Hes to
get your packet at tho drugstore
and come right back with It
Heres a dime Joey Buy yourself
some candy for your trouble
< But Joey doesnt come back
in a hurry He doesnt come back
at all with your medicine He
doesnt bring back your dime
either He spent it for candy He
took the pay and didnt run the
errand
Youre vexed very much so
You tell your husband later
That little cheat I gave him a
dime just to run that errand
for me Im going to call up his
mother and tell her
Now just apply this story to
another matter God has certain
tasks which in the order established
by Him Ho cannot do
Himself He calls upon men
and women to run these errands
I Mrs McCune Hostess

A round table discussion on
annuals was led by Mrs A C

One visitor Mrs J M Grlf
fith one new member Mrs W
E Bailey and the following
t
for Him One of these errands
involves tho propagation of the
human family Married men and
women have to do this task for
GodBut
But since it Is a task demanding
sacrifice God has offered a
reward for doing it This reward
derives to a large extent from
the pleasure accompanying the
conjugal act
God then is justly indignant
wjth those who practice artificial J
birth birth control Their conduct
is exactly like Joey Petrilis
Thoy take the candy but they
dont run tho errand They cheat
God Thats one reason why th
Catholic Church does not undo
any circumstances tolerate t
practise of artificial birth coi
