Patriotic Program
In observance of Texas Independence
Day March 2 the Tulla
Literary Arts Club studied Texas
and International Good Will when
it met last Thursday in the home
of Mrs P D Pearson
After a brief safety talk by Mrs
E C Goodman Mrs Clifton Black
ard presented a birds eye view
of Texas under six flags The
flags and the date each came into
exstence i for Texas are 1685
French 1690 Spanish 1821
Mexican 1839 Lone Star flagl
1845 United States and 1861
Confederate flag A Lone Star flag
and a United States flag displayed
on the piano helped to il

The Txas flower and the Texas
tree was discussed by Mrs Earl

names of people for members
to see in regard to the cemetery
beautificatlon fund A method
of entertaining the Senior girls
was chosen and discussed
Refreshments of sandwiches
punch and cookies in the shape
of the state of Texas and pecans
having in their center a tiny replica
of the Lone Star flag were

KAFFIR COMMUNITY
ORGANIZATION
The raging winds and fogging
dust did not prevent the people
of the Kaffir community from
meeting at the schoolhousc March
1 to elect new officers for their
organization
After the people got the dust
out of their eyes dusted a scat
to sit in and told a few dust
tales the house was called to order
by the president C D Taylor
for the purpose of electing
new officers A D Parker was
elected president Royal Crawford
vice president and Foster Harman
secretary and treasurer
After the business session for
tytwo and other games were
played The people went home
feeling that they were still living
in a grand country and looking
forward to the next meeting at
which time the Tulia Kiwanis
club will entertain The date of
this meeting will be announced
later
