Down Range a television pro-
gram about Army-wide training
and community news is broadcast
on Fort Hood's Channel 9 at noon
and 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 6
p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

The Fort Hood Education
Counseling Centers can provide
information concerning accredita-
tion and utility of home study
courses. There are many low cost
or free alternatives to achieving an

761st Tank Bn
The 761st Tank Battalion will
have a film presentation 3:30 p.m.
July 10 in the Remagen Room of
the III Corps Headquarters Build-
ing 1001. Admittance is free.
Mounted lights
LAW Fort Hood regulation 190-
5 states only the following ve-
hicles are authorized to have red/
blue emergency lights law en-
forcement vehicles fire depart-
ment vehicles Explosive Ordi-
nance Detachment vehicles and
ambulances.
No other government vehicles
are authorized. Exceptions may be
requested by submitting a memo-
randum to the Provost Marshal
Office attention Tim Leverenz.
Clearance forms
The new memorandum of in-
struction for clearing procedures
was implemented June 3. In accor-
dance with the MOI the new se-
ries Installation Clearance Records
(DA Form 137-1
-2-3-R) must now
be used.
Effective immediately the Cen-
tral Clearance Section in Building
121 will no longer accept the old
clearance forms.

Bond campaign

paign is underway.

Safety course
Commanders are required to
appoint in writing at least one in-
dividual to perform additional duty
safety functions at company lev-
els and higher.
Appointed individuals without
previous training must attend lo-
cal safety training.
The next class meets July 15-
16.
Safety personnel will be in the
rank of staff sergeant or higher at
company level and commissioned/
warrant officer at battalion level
and higher.

Attache assignments
If you are an active-duty Army
NCO E-5 through E-7 and are
looking for an exciting challeng-
ing and rewarding new career field
then consider an assignment with
the Defense Attache System.
The DAS is now recruiting only
the most qualified NCO's who are
seeking joint service assignments
within American Embassies in
more than 80 locations through-
out the world.
Selected NCO's are given the
opportunity to represent the United
States Army and the Defense In-
telligence Agency while serving
diplomatic assignments.
The assignments include Eu-
rope North Central and South
America Africa the Far East and
the Middle East.
Interested personnel must be on
active duty qualify for a Top Se-
cret Security Clearance and have
a GT score of 115 or higher.
Additionally applicants must
have a CL of 120 or higher a typ-
ing score of 40 WPM or higher and
be familiar with the latest PC word
processors.
Soldiers must also test 100 or
higher on the Defense Language
Aptitude Battery.
All family members must be
U.S. citizens and meet the medical
standards for the country of assign-
ment.

HAZMAT course
A pilot program of the SMPT5
Hazardous Material Safety and
Awareness program will be tele-
vised 9-11 a.m. and noon-2 a.m.
today on Fort Hood Channel 9.
This training is required for all
personnel handling hazardous ma-
terials.
The eight-hour program will
televise a class being conducted at
the School of Military Packaging
Technology at Aberdeen Proving
Grounds Md.
Personnel may enroll in the pro-
gram individually or as a group by
going to the Hazardous Material
Reference Learning Resource Cen-
ter Building 504 to register and
pick up a training packet.
Students must watch the pro-
gram and complete the practical
exercise and final examination.
The completed packet will be re-
turned to the LRC technician in
Building 504.
A certificate will be awarded for
successful completion.

VTC rooms
Fort Hood now has two video
teleconference rooms available for
video teleconferencing located in
the Battle Simulation Center
Building 4501 Room 241. To
schedule either VTC facility call

Airlift support
The Fort Hood Regional Flight
Center serves servicemembers and
DA civilians for official business
flights from Fort Hood to any lo-
cation within the United States.
Submit support requests to the
III Corps Validator. For more in-

AOAP
All Army Oil Analysis Program
monitors must receive training
when appointed and annually
thereafter. Classes are 9:30-11:30
a.m. every Wednesday and the first
Thursday of each month. To sched-
ule classes call 287-2909.
FAP training
The Family Advocacy Program
will conduct commander/first ser-
geant training in the Family Sup-
port Division Conference Room
115 Building 1 on the second
Wednesday of each month. Partici-
pants must register in advance.
Units are required to conduct
annual child and spouse abuse pre-
vention training in accordance
with AR 608-18. The class is man-
datory for all soldiers.
The FAP instructor will conduct
the training in a location scheduled
by the unit with a date and time
coordinated with the FAP office.

Travel advisory
Official travelers are cautioned
to make careful advance planning
to ensure timely mission accom-
plishment when traveling to or
through the 1996 Olympic area
July 19 through Aug. 19.
The availability of air bus rail
and rental vehicles will be severely
limited. Hotel/motel accommoda-
tions in the Olympics area will be
extremely scarce. For information
