Steinke has already won a
portrait package from JC Pen-
ney and the opportunity to
compete in a Regional Selec-
tion in Dallas Feb. 27. His
selection for the regional finals
was based on his photos and
personality for modeling in a
competition that started last
year.
Steinke’s photo was one of
1400 selected from 60000
youngsters who entered the
contest in 1993.

Two troops recently arrived
on post in a variety of person-
ally-owned vehicles. They were
young by military standards
but showed all the enthusiasm
of new soldiers arriving at Fort
Hood for the first time.
They wanted to see the post
and find out what it was all
about.
That’s just what they did
thanks to the planning and
footwork of Staff Sgt. Robert
Pugh Company B 15th Mili-
tary Intelligence Battalion.
The troops consisted of boys
and chaperones from Boy Scout
Troop 288 located in Plano and
Troop 777 in Richardson
Texas.
After meeting their military
sponsor getting comfortable in
their military quarters and a
receiving a good night’s sleep
the scouts eagerly met the

tion to the planned displays of

Regt the troops walked along
the flight line to the 227th
Aviation Regiment where a
UH-60 Blackhawk was waiting
for them to closely examine.
Next came a tour of the 15th
MI Bn’s Mohawk exhibits in
the battalion’s headquarters
building. After taking pictures

Excellence” at the Academy of
Achievement conference.
He is also the recipient of

less during the military work-
ing dog demonstration pre-
sented by the Fort Hood Mili-
tary Police K-9 Section.
They seemed thoroughly im-
pressed that Marco (the ca-
nine) found the drug training
package hidden on a vehicle in
the parking lot. Next it was off
to the 1st Cavalry Division I
Museum.
Later one troop enjoyed
bowling while the other played
basketball.
The next day Troop 777 was^
on its way home. Troop 288
continued the weekend visiting
2nd Armored Division.
