How to ('lire a Cold.
Be as careful as you can you will
occasionally take cold, and when
you do, get a medicine of known re-
liability, one that has all established
reputation and that is certain to ef-
fect a quick cure. Such a medi-
cine is Chamberlain's dough Reme-
dy. It has gained a world wide rep-
utation by its remarkable cures of
this most common ailment, and can
always be depended upon. It acts
on nature's plan, relieves the lungs,
aids expectoration, opens the secre-
tions and and alcb nature in restor-
ing the system to a healthy condi-
tion During the many years in
which it has been in general use we
have yet to learn of a single case of
Cold or attflek of the grip having re-

Deafness Cannot lie Cured
By local applications, as they can-
not reach the diseased portion of the
ear. There is only one way to cure
deafness, and that is by constitu-
tional remedies. Deafness is caused
by an inflamed condition of the mu-
cous lining of ih*' Eustachian Tube.
When this lube Is inflamed you have
a rumbling sound or imperfect hear-
ing. and when it is entirely closed.
Deafness is the result, and unless
the inflammation can be taken out
and this tube restored to its normal
condition, hearing will be destroy-
ed forever; nine cases out of ten
are caused by Catarrh, which is
nothing but an inflamed condition of
the macouse surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dol-
lars for any case of Deafness (caus-
ed by Catarrh > that cannot be cur-
ed by Hall's Catarrh Cure. Send for

Accounts differ as to whether the
unfortunate man left his power on

moving while he ran ahead aud en-
deavored to throw the switch. Offi-
cials of the company state that he
used his bare hands to pull the rail
over, while others ure of the opinion
ihat he used the brass reverse key
from his car. It is supposed the rail
was either harder to move than he
anticipated or he was too hurried in
his efforts, with the result that the
slow moving car struck him aud
knocked him dodfn upon the track,
the wheels passing across the middle
of his body aud nearly cutting hlpi In
