REPORT OF THE FIELD DEPARTMENT
Submitted by S. A. Moffat, Director of Field Work
IT is with a great deal of pleasure that I am able at this time to present
so encouraging a report on behalf of the Field Department for the
year just ending.
This country has been at war since the 6th of April. The people of
the nation have been asked to contribute largely to government enterprises,
and to those organizations whose activities have a direct bearing upon the
winning of the war. As a result, a great many philanthropic and social
service organizations have been compelled to curtail their programs. This
new condition which we have had to face this year has not adversely
affected the support of the Boy Scouts of America. On the other hand,
the people of the nation so generally approve of the value of the service
