Rain Is Good for New Wheat Crop;

Once afain rair. has fallen. It
began about 8:30 Monday night
and this Tuesday morning it is
still raining Will be fine on the
wheat but doubt if the cotton
needed it
There was a nice frost Mon-
day morning Everyone hoped it
was enough to take the leaves
from the cotton so the green
bolls could open.
Thursday a week ago the
young Mexican couple who were
pulling cotton for M R Given!*
lost their 8-day old baby girl
She was nuried on Friday in the
C'rosbyton cemetery
Not yet having a telephone in-
stalled and having been so busy
trying to get the balance of the
inside painting done, we do not
know any community news
Mesdames W. H. Leatherwood,
Arnold Hodges, Kelton Winegai,
R. A. Paschal! and T. E. Thorn
hill were Lubbock visitors Mon
day afternoon of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Spence of
Floydada were Sunday dinner
guests of your reporter and fam
ily.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt McClure at-
tended the Baptist convention in
San Antonio last week. While
there they also visited their son

soon others began to come in
with sandwiches, chips, dips,
cookies, drinks and gifts.
It was a wonderful surprise
but we could have looked a bit
more partified had we known
they were coming.

boys, Preston, Mickey and Gary,
pedaled a few watermelons and
listened to the football game be-
tween Crosbyton and Ralls on
the pickup radio.

hostess ior a Stanley Party
Thursday morning of last week.

was the demonstrator. Others
