Cub Scouts
A three-day Cubbers Fellowship
and Training Course Weekend will
be held at Camp Tahuaya begin
ning Saturday.
This course is for Cub adult lead
ers and offers a full basic training
for Cubbers. Den mothers are in
vited to attend the course all day
Saturday.
The schedule for Saturday morn
ing includes a course on den meet
ings at 8:30 a.m. and at 10 :30 a.m.
a lecture on achievement plans.
Saturday afternoon will begin
with classes on pack administra
tion and the den mother's place.
At 3:3 p.m. a class on the pack
meeting and den chief relationship
will be offered.
At 7 p.m. the topic will be Cub
scouting fundamentals and at 8:30
p.m. program planning.
Meals will be served in the din
ing hall at Camp Tahuaya at a
cost of 75 cents per meal. All
registration must be made in ad
vance and meal cost will be paid in
advance.

The high school students will
hold their Annual Amateur Talent
Show on Wednesday April 22.
Cash prizes will be awarded to
students who win the first three
places in the events. The show
will not include stunts this year as
it has heretofore but will be
limited to individual talent.
FIRST ROUND OF BASEBALL
ENDS
The Fort Hood High School
baseball team went to Bartlett on
Friday April 17 for the stand-off
game. The Bartlett game is the
last game of the first round. So
far in the first round the team
has come up with a four win and
one loss average. The season be
ing played has two consecutive
rounds. In the first round our team
meets five other teams and plays
return games in the second round
with the other teams.
SENIOR PLANS
The senior class has accom
plished much in the planning of
their final activities of the year.
Chaplain R. R. Brooks has ac
cepted an invitation to deliver the
baccalaureate sermon. He will be
assisted on the program by Chap
lain Shiery. Cpl. Leland Fox will
be the soloist.
The graduation speakers have
been named and practice has be
gun on the speeches and the music
that is to be given at the com
mencement exercise.
BAND MAKES CONCERT TOUR
The students of Fort Hood High
School have heard bands from a
number of neighboring schools
and now our band is planning to
begin a series of return engage
ments. On Monday April 20 the
band went to Rogers and played

the Band Festival in Waco in May.
SPANISH CLASSES
ENTERTAINED
The Spanish classes were enter
tained by a number of Spanish
dances on Thursday at the regular
class period. As visitors in our
school we had two Spanish-speak
ing students from Reagan Junior
High School in Temple. One of
these has appeared in a number of
programs in this section to us she
is simply known as Connie who
executes the Spanish dance and
rhythm in proper Spanish style.
We were very fortunate to have
her as our guest.
