WHLDRMMN
VISITING IN HEREFORD
This former scout. Wm. F. Dran-
nan, now of Texas, 79 years of age,
has been in Hereford for a week.
Be crossed the Plains of Kansas in
'47 with Kit Carson to Colorado and
'48 crossed the Rockies with General
PTemont. He fought Indiana in
Texas in '52 and was on the plains
before a settlement was made. His
companions were Capt. McKee, Jno.
Sullivan and Big Foot Wallace. He
it selling a most interesting book
and is spending his declining years
visiting at places where old friends
are fouud.

J. M. Scott of Hart was attending
to business in Dimmitt Monday.
J. 0. Lindsey of the north part of
the county was here Monday trans-
acting business.
Commissioner J. F. Dollar has
been in attendance at commissioner's
court this week.
Commissioner Walter Donald of
Arney is in attendance at commis-
sioners' court this week.
Commissioner Wm. Smith was in
town in attendance at court tr is
week.
J. W. Alexander cariied a load
of passengers to Hereford in his
auto Monday.
We are glad to learn that Miss
Griffith is able to take charge of her
school again.
Alfred Ramey and Mr. Bunch of
of Hereford, were in Dimmitt last
week representing the Tu!ia Devel-
opment Company.
Messrs. B. D. Woodlee, Arch
Johnson, W. R. Woodburn made a
trip to Hereford Monday as a com-
mittee to buy some chairs for the
Lodge.
