Dial Telephones
ARE ON THE JOB!
Ha.strop's dial telephones are on the job!
At noon Saturday, the city's telephone system
was changed from manual to dial operation.
Although the change was mad« -noi niy, in
a matter of minutes, many months of work by
hundreds of telephone people were required to
make your dial system possible.
A new building was constructed to house ihe
new equipment. Hundreds of complex switches
and other parts had to lie precision-made.
Thousands of feet of tiny wires had to be
arranged, and thousands of wire ends had to
be hand-soldered.
As a result. Bastrop telephone users can dial
their calls, using the most up-to-date apparatus.
On a second's notice, your system can make any
one of the thousands of inter-connections be-
tween the city's telephones.
We are glad we're able to give Bastrop the
best service available to meet it- telephone
needs, today and tomorrow.
