Feb. '24 Final Day
For (lolton Plant
Or Release
The time has rolled around
j for farmers to make definite
plan - about their cotton and pea-
nut allotment-, according to
Kleber Trigg Jr., office manager
of the count y A SC.
The question is a simple one
- plant or release. Releasing
is the only way to protect an
allotment unle.-s it is planted.
Each case will be reviewed when
you conic to the office, and if
releasii l will not protect your
allotment, yen. will be told at
that time. Most farmers will
be protected by releasing in
19C, I.
February is the final day for
relea.-ing cotton, and April 4th
i- the final day for releasing
peanuts.
Farmer- who wish to plant
additional ac^s must also file
' applications b, ! se dates.
"Our 1960 records indi-ate
that a number of farmers will
want to release again this year,"
Mr. Trigg aid. "These dead
line dates always seem to slip
by some farmers who want to
release or request acres. We
tare making every effort to bai
arice this situation, and the coun-
ty committee urges all allot-
ment farmers • to make their
plans early in order that they
may serve your interests best."
