THE THRESHER
Three
U. To Siwuor
Dno* With $459
By TOM CADY
The Student Association will
sponsor an all-school dance with
the $459.55 profits from Home-
coming. The colleges wanted their
money back but were silenced by
Park Weaver's proposal.
Prize money for floats is avail-
able in the S. A. office. Credit
was officially given Park Wea-
ker for engineering Bice's first
Homecoming weekend (rather
than one Homecoming day).
December 9 was set as the date
for frosh elections. Petitions are
due by 1 pm the Monday after
Thanksgiving.
The S. A. refused to pay $5 (to
whom it is nolt known) for the
cheerleaders' picture appearing
in the football programs.
"Classrooms Abroad," requests
a student representative who
would receive $15 per student
who signs up for their program;
see Steve Shapiro.

They were repelled—but not

colleges.

E.'s take them together, while
courses like Eco. 100, Bio. 390,
and English 210 are primarily
for P.E.'s.
All of these courses could be
arranged so that the P. E. ma-
jors would have to exert almost
no effort to stay in school. How-
ever, Mr. McEnany implied that
such a plan is not now being
followed.

the world on
This June, the graduates of our engi-
neering and scientific schools, pockets
stuffed with job offers, have "the world
on a string."
But there's another "string" attached
to this fabulous situation: A man can
only accept one job offer.
How can the graduate make up his
mind wisely about his vital decision?
Were not going to try to tell you.
And we're going to resist the tempta-
tion to point out the many advantages
of working for IBM—much as our
company, like every other, needs top-
notch engineering and scientific talent.
We're merely going to leave you with
one thought that may help you make
your decision:
IBM's President has stated this pol-
icy: . . I want this company to be
known as the one which has the great-
est respect for the individual."
