MUSIC MAJORS! Know how to change
a glee club from a loud crowd to a
lyrical miracle? Simple: just promise
'em a Lucky break! A Lucky's a light
smoke—the right smoke—for anyone.
It's all cigarette—all fine tobacco!
And that naturally light, wonderfully
good-tasting tobacco is toasted to taste
even better. Hold your rehearsal with-
out a Lucky break, and you'll get
nothing, but Choir Ire! Chorus: Light
c-
up a light smoke ... a Lucky Strike!

STICKLE! MAKE $25
Sticklers are simple riddles with two-word rhyming
answers. Both words must have the same number of
syllables. (No drawings, please!) We'll shell out $25
for all we use—and for hundreds that never see print.
So send stacks of 'em with your name, address,
college and class to Happy-Joe-Lucky, Box 67A,
Mount Vernon, N. Y.

The Rice Engineer is an all
student periodical published bi-
monthly during the school year.
This year's first issue will be
on sale next week at various
places about tihe campus and
costs only twenty five cents per
copy.
Managing Editor Bill Sick and
Business Manager Frank Driskill
head the staff which also includes
Fred Hendy, Wes Pittman, Bob
Griffin, and Bill Montgomery.
There are four fundamental
purposes of The Rice Engineer.
They are as follows;
1. It exists as an organ of ex-
pression for the engineering stu-
dents.
2. It provides a source of tech-
nical material that is tailored' to
the engineering students' inter-
est.
3. It is a medium of contact
for its advertisers.
4. The journal serves as a rep-
resentative of the school. Topics
are usually chosen as a result
of summer employment exper-
iences, or simply because the stu-
dent has ibecome particularly in-
terested in some process or mech-
anis msuggested in his school
work.
Anyone who has an article they
wish to have published should
contact Wes Pitman.
