RPMH Reception
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital
Auxiliary invites everyone to attend a
reception Friday, Feb. 5, from 9:30-11:30
а.m. in recognition of National Heart
Health and to celebrate National Wear
Red Day. The reception will be held in
the Admissions Lobby. The volunteers
will be serving snacks, cookies and red
punch and hospital personnel will be
providing blood pressure and cholesterol
screenings. Please join the Auxiliary as
we celebrate National Heart Health.

Fastpitch Signups
Sweetwater Fastpitch Softball
Association will be having softball regis-
tration for ages 5-18 years, on Saturday,
Feb. 6, at the Jaycees building on Crane
Street, from 6-p.m. For more information

American Legion
Sweetwater American Legion Post
#109 and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on
Monday, Feb. 8, at the Jaycees Building,
located at 1001 Crane Street. All mem-
bers and veterans interested in becoming

Fourth of July Meeting
The Roscoe Fourth of July plan-
ning committee will meet at 7 p.m. on

The Sweetwater Masonic Lodge # 571

Youth Fundraiser
The Evangelical Methodist Church
youth will have a fundraiser at Pizza Hut,
from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday,

Little League Baseball
Registration for 2010 Sweetwater Little
League Baseball will take place from 6-8
p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 6-8 p.m. on
Wednesday, Feb. 10, and from 5-7 p.m.
on Friday, Feb. 12. The registration will
take place at the Sweetwater Lions Club
building, located at 1510 Lamar Street

A called meeting of the Sweetwater
Masonic Lodge #571 will be held Friday,

Ladies Day Out
Ladies Day Out in Downtown Roscoe
will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13. There
will be a chance to view "the latest market
arrivals and a sneak peak into new spring

They will have wine and chocolates and
Vickie's Gifts, at 211 Main Street, will

Free Cholesterol Screening
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital will
sponsor a free cholesterol screening
from 8-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18,
2010, at the Sweetwater-Nolan County
Health Department, located at 301 E.
12th Street.
Bicycle Informational Class
Do you have a bicycle that's not in
working order but needs just a few minor
repairs? Would you like to know more
about how to properly maintain you
bike? For beginners and amateurs alike,
the Representatives of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will
be holding a bicycle informational class
on Thursday, Feb. 18. The class will be
held in the cultural hall at the church
on the corner of 10th and Elm Street
in Sweetwater. For more information,

Artist of the Month
The February Art Exhibit at the County-
City Library will be a display of the artists
of Sweetwater Healthcare Center. There
is a beautiful variety of art work. Be sure
to come by! The hours for the library are
Monday from 1-6 p.m., Tuesday through
Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sweetwater VFW
Sweetwater VFW Post 2479 has
changed hours on sweep machines to 10
a.m. until 7 p.m. and is closed Tuesdays
and Sunday.
Leija Account
A medical expenses account for Raquel
Leija has been set up at T&P Federal
Credit Union. The account number is

make a donation.
Trees Available
The Nolan County Soil and Water
Conservation District is offering low-cost
Afghan Pine seedlings and wildlife pack-
ets for spring planting. These trees can
be used to establish windbreaks and for
protective screens. They will be taking
orders through Jan. 28, 2010, and they
will be delivered in early February. There
is a limited supply so place an order
soon. For further information on order-

Parks Being Winterized
As of Oct. 28, 2009, The City of
Sweetwater Public Works Department
will be winterizing all parks, Sweetwater
Cemetery and Lake Sweetwater camp-
ground restrooms by turning off the
water to these facilities for the remained
of the cold season. For information con-
cerning the use of park facilities, contact
the Sweetwater City Service Center at
235-1297 or 235-5003.
Clothes Closet
The clothes closet is open to those
in need on the first Saturday of each
month from 9 a.m. to noon at the First
United Methodist Church, on the corner
of Fourth and Cedar Streets.
Angel Fund available at SIIS
Sweetwater High School has available
an Angel Fund to provide educational
assistance to SHS students. The fund will
allow contributions to be made in honor
or memory of a loved one. An acknowl-
edgement card will be sent to the person
or family designated by the contributor.
The fund is managed by the principal and
committee members of Sweetwater High
School, who will determine the disburse-
ment of funds. Contributions may be
sent to: Sweetwater High School Angel
Fund, Attn: Laura Orr, 1205 Ragland,
