Like puzzles?
Then you'll love sudoku. This mind-beiid-
ing puzzle will have you hooked from the
moment you square off, so sharpen your
pencil and put your sudoku savvy to the
test!
Here's How It Works:
Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9
grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes.
To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through
9 must fill each row, column and box.
Each number can appear only once in
each row, column and box. You can fig-
ure out the order in which the numbers
will appear by using the numeric clues
already provided in the boxes. The more
numbers you name, the easier it gets to
solve the puzzle!

WHAT THE WEATHER'S
LIKE TODAY ?
HI, MR. LOPGE.
Horoscopes By Holiday
FOR FRIDAY,
JANUARY 8, 2010
The Scorpio moon sug-
gests that we embrace the
way things are changing
because no matter how we
try we will not be able to
stop the transformation. The
question becomes whether
we can guide the chaos in a
certain direction — that is
entirely possible. Instead of
resisting change, work with
it and you'll increase your
own influence.
ARIES (March 21-April
19). You coLild have doubts
about your career. Your work
should be at least a little bit
fiin for you. Whatever you're
doing, if it involves hang-
ing out with people you love,
you're probably on the right
track.
TAURUS (April 20-May
20). Sure, every choice mat-
ters. But every choice is not
hugely momentous. When it
comes to fulfilling your life's
purpose, there are many
perfect routes. Just choose
one that feels right and don't
agonize.
GEMINI (May 21-June
21). Fortune favors you
when yoLi shift into an area
of interest that is foreign to
your expertise. Being a new-
comer is exciting. You'll be
game for the adventure and
fabulously passionate about
the learning process.
CANCER (June 22-July
22). Someone may try to
influence you to blow off
your duty in favor of some-
thing that seems more fun.
It won't be. Nothing will be
more fun than honoring your
commitments.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
You're better off dealing with
people who appreciate your
raw exuberance — and almost
everyone does. But there are
the rare humorless ones that
will cross your path. Steer
clear. Formality is necessary
with these types.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept.
22). You'll be asked to do
something on very short
notice. Push yourself to
achieve. You're exceptionally
strong right now, and this
is just the chance to prove
what you're made of.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).
You'll be motivated by the
prospect of relating to peo-
ple you respect. Leveraging
your social nature will help
you to reach a goal. Make
yourself accountable to at
least one person in regards
to this endeavor.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov.
21). You are better at see-
ing the big picture than are
many of the people around
you. That's why you'll have
much to point out to the
others in your circle. Choose
your moments. Talk when
others seem ready to listen.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov.
22-Dec. 21). The conve-
nience of e-mail or of send-
ing a quick text is obvious —
perhaps too obvious for the
special message you want to
deliver today. Your senti-
ment deserves a handwritten
note.
CAPRICORN (Dec.
22-Jan. 19). The first step
toward getting involved is to
sign up. But that in and of
itself is not enough to ensure
your spot. Let the gatekeep-
ers know your intention of
exploring what is inside the
gates!
AQUARIUS (Jan.
20-Feb. 18). You appreciate
those who speak the truth, as
long as they do so in a loving
way. You respond to those
who use etiquette when they
address you, and who relate
to you in a gentle, intelligent
manner.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March
20). Wear your heart on
your sleeve. Let others know
the strength of your desire. If
it feels like you've never been
so excited in your entire life
to see things develop in your
favor, then express that.
TODAYS BIRTHDAY
(Jan. 8). Romantic decisions
bring luck. Often, an unrea-
sonable choice will somehow
make perfect sense to you.
Going with your heart will
prove smart. A grounding
influence walks into your life
in February. Happenings in
April require you to make
fast adjustments. You'll
reach a milestone in a rela-
tionship in June. Sagittarius
and Scorpio people adore
you. Your lucky numbers
are: 9,15, 44, 39 and 18.
WEEKEND LOVE
FORECAST;
ARIES: There are many
facets to your personality.
Keep the one you are inter-
ested in guessing.
TAURUS: You'll be
receptive and open to the
adventure of loving someone
who is very different from
you.
GEMINI: Stick with the
one you started with. Loyalty
will count, and you'll be
proud of your choice.
CANCER: Every effort
to make yourself feel better
will help you become more
loving.
LEO: Give straightfor-
ward answers and directives.
You'll be appreciated.
VIRGO: The care you
take in the details of your
personal presentation will
make you magnetic.
LIBRA: Be bold and talk
to people you don't know.
Your courage is attractive.
SCORPIO: Your genuine
care for others makes you
shine as a class act.
SAGITTARIUS: You'll
find out that you are at the
top of someone else's to-do
list.
CAPRICORN: Be
peaceful. If you feel angry,
work it out appropriately.
Misdirected anger is like
poison.
AQUARIUS: You'll be a
buddy to your love, sharing
his or her interests without
worrying whether that makes
you masculine or feminine.
PISCES: Someone needs to
know that you trust him or
her. Let go and prove it.
COUPLE OF THE
WEEKEND:
Capricorn and Cancer
couples who share a living
environment make home a
cozy place that's a source of
pride, too. Capricorn likes
an environment that has
the potential to impress the
neighbors. Cancer wants to
be able to relax into a lovely
scene. The atmosphere they
build together — even if it's a
temporary one, like the cor-
ner booth they share for one
special date — strengthens
their bond.
