Miss lia Hughes was hos-
tess to N. D. C. W.'s ou last
Monday evening.
After the ' business of the
Club was dispensed the mem-
bers and guests were invited
to par icipate in an advertis
ing contest which proved to be
very interesting. Miss Ethyle
Prince was awarded a lovely
bouquet of Dalhias and ferns
for having answered the
most advertisements. This
she presented to the visiting
guests. After a very amuse-
ing bargain contest the host-
ess invited the guests on the
porch where they were seated
in groups of four and served
a delicious two course lunch*
eon, consisting of chicken,
tomatoes, ice tea, cream and
cake.
The club adjourned to meet
July 3, with the Misses La-
thams.
The out of town guests
enjoying Miss Hughes' hos-
pitality were Mits Watkins of
Kemp, Miss Sharp of Jack-
sonville and Miss l'ollok of
Sabine. Reporter.

charming hostess to the mem-

cussed quite a number of
things for the betterment of
Alto.
Mr. Cumiuitigs was given j
the contract to dispose of the
contents of the town garbage
cans at least twice a month.
Another subject under dis-
cussion was a Trades DayJ
This should interest the mer-
chants, and the committee will
surely find them responsive
in the matter.
Save your paper. Mrs,
Hurst is taking tlie place of
the old familiar rag-man, how-
ever to be perfectly correct her
cry is "paper." The idea is
to obtain a car of scrap paper
to be sold for the benefit of
the League.
From a financial standpoint
