IBC, Intocable hit right holiday
notes for children of Zapata
International Bank of Commerce
(IBC)- Zapata is making sure that
hundreds of children in Zapata
County will not be left off Santa's
list this year.
The bank has helped organize a
benefit concert by hometown
favorite. 'Intocable,' to provide
Christmas gifts for as many as
1500 children across the county.
The concert, which is called "An
Intocable Christmas," will be held
Saturday, Dec. 22 at the Zapata
Community Center.
"We're hoping local residents
will respond strongly to this,
because it's a chance for everyone
who attends the show to enjoy
themselves, and do something
positive for many young children at
the same time," said Renato
Ramirez, President and CEO of
IBC-Zapata. "It's a great
opportunity to make a difference in
a child's life, and to celebrate the
strong spirit of the community."
All of the proceeds from "An
Intocable Christmas" will be used
to purchase toys for children from
toddlers to fifth graders throughout
Zapata County. Intocable, which
normally receives tens of thousands
of dollars for a performance, has
agreed to perform for free, so the
money the band would normally
receive will go to help buy the
gifts. The goal is to buy $20,000
worth of toys. They will be
distributed on Dec. 23 at the Zapata
County Fair Pavilion.
"Since we're from Zapata, we
really want to help the community
in any way we can, especially
during the holidays," said Ricky
