Mrs. J. R. Richie died in late January, 1939, in Wills Point, Texas. She is survived by Rev. J. R.
Richie.
February 9, 1939
George Delbert Simpson was born September 10, 1868, in Wayne County, Illinois. He died
November 15, 1938, in Collins, Missouri. He married Miss Minnie Pilcher on April 9, 1899. He
is survived by his widow; son, Dale; brother, Roy Simpson of Phelps, Wisconsin; and sister,
Pearl Musgraves of Barnhill, Illinois. He was preceded in death by Norman Simpson, who died
in 1918. Burial is in the Altus Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma.
James M. Culpepper, 72, was born in 1867, in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. He died January 12,
1939. He married Lura Dena Peavey December 19, 1893. Together they had six children, two of
whom preceded Mr. Culpepper in death. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great-
grandchildren.
Elizabeth Frances Glanville, nee Frances "Fannie" Button. Born in Barron, Kentucky, on
September 21, 1847, she died at her home in Cooke County, Texas, on November 29, 1938. She
is preceded in death by her husband, C.C. Glanville, whom she married on October 26, 1870.
Mrs. B. T. Hayes was born in Daingerfield, Texas, on July 9, 1886, and died on June 7, 1938.
On October 21, 1886, Miss Emma Cheatham married Rev. B. T. Hayes. They had four children,
of which three survive: Mrs. E. O. Shaw of Sapula, OK, Mrs. G. G. Merry of Valliant, OK, and
F. R. Hayes of Ft. Worth.
Mrs. E. J. Chedester died on February 3, 1939, in Byars, Oklahoma. She is survived by her
husband and six small children.
Mrs. J. J. Mercer died on January 30, 1939, at her Austin Home. She is survived by her
daughters, Miss Helen Mercer of Port Arthur, Texas, and Miss Florence Mercer of Austin,
Texas.

Lady Anne Grenfell died December 10, 1938. She was married to surgeon, Sir Wilfred
Grenfell, missionaries.
Infant daughter of Irvin and Anita Frances of Alamagorda, New Mexico. Grandparents are Dr.
and Mrs. Robert E. Dickenson of Portales, New Mexico.
Mrs. T. S. Armstrong, of Dallas, widow of the late Rev. T. S. Armstrong of the Central Texas
Conference. She died 26 December, 1938. She was the daughter of Rev. E. L. Armstrong.
Rev. W. F. Davis, 78, of the Texas Conference, died in a Tyler hospital February 13. The funeral
was held from Cedar Street Methodist Church, Tyler, on Tuesday with Rev. L. F. Brothers,74
