Shirley Hash at Childress
Nuptial vows weré exchang-
ed in the Church of Christ at
Childress Friday evening by
Miss Roberta Shirley Hash of
Childress and Lloyd Gober of
Canadian. The formal double-
ring ceremony was read at 7
o'clock by Henry E. Speck jr.,
minister of the North Side

The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Robert Hash of Chil-
dress. The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry
Gober.
Ceremonial music was pro-
vided by members of the A
Capella Chorus of Abilene
Christian College who .sang
"I Love You," "A Wedding
Prayer," and the processional,
and recessional, "Whither
Thou Goest." The benediction
by the minister was contin-
ued by the Chorus with "Be
With Us Lord."
Candles were lighted by
Don Newhouse of Robv and
Glenn Hibbs of Borger.
Presented in marriage by
her mother, the bride was
rowned in white satin. The
bodice and sleeves of her
gown were of Chantilly lace
and the gown featured an
Empire waistline. The floor-
length skirt was accented
with a chapel train. The fing-
er tip veil was attached to a
tiara decorated with seed
pearls and net. With her
white Bible the bride carried
a bouquet of frenched carna-
tions centered with a white
orchid and tied with white
satin streamers. The old-new
tradition was observed in her
bridal ensemble.
Miss Linda Lou Scudder of
Fort Worth was maid of hon-
or and Mi«s Monta Groves of
Farmersville was bridesmaid.
Both attendants wore frocks
of blue cotton satin with
rounded necklines, tucked
waistlines and full skirts.
Their hats were of veiling
and their corsages were
frenched white carnations.
Boh Gober of West Texas
State College at Canyon at-
tended his brother as best
man and Clois Beaty of Texas
T^eh at Lubbock was grooms-
man. Ushers were Don Batts
of Alice. Richard Myers of
Alice, Don Newhouse and
Gi"nn Hibbs.
Mrs. Hash attended her
daughter's wedding wearing
a roval blue wool sheath with
white acres orie~.. Mrs. Gober.
mother of the bridegroom was
attired in a navy and white
r'-ess with white accessories.
Both mothers wore corsages
of white feathered carnations.
Mrs. Hash was hostess at a
reception in the church an-
nex immediately following
the ceremony. Guests were
registered by Miss Betty Go-
ber of Canadian, sister of the
bridegroom.
Assisting at the reception
were Miss Ann Cotton of
Shreveport, Louisiana, Miss
Peggy Thompson of Howe,
and Miss Judy Aslobrook of
Alice, who, with the wedding
attendants, are students at
Abilene Christian College.
For her wedding trip Mrs.
Gober wore a fitted black suit
with white pillbox hat and
black wcewtwriw.

Mrs. Lloyd Gober
was the orchid from her bri-
dal bouquet.
The couple will be at home
at 542v2 East North 16th St.
in Abilene.
The bride was valedictorian
of the 1958 graduating class
of Childress High School and
is a senior music major at
ACC. She is a member of A
Capella Chorus, Beta Rho So-
cial Club. Kappa Delta Pi,
Honor Society in Education,
Campus Service Organization
and Woman's Honor Club.
She will be teaching in the
Music Deoartment at the
Campus Elementary School
and will continue her studies
at ACC where she will receive
her BA in Music Education in
August.
Mr. Gober graduated from
Canadian High School in 1958.
He is a member of the Sub-
T-16 Club, Industrial Arts
Club, Alpha Phi Omega serv-
ice organization at ACC. He
will be laboratory assistant
in the Industrial Arts Depart-
ment and continue his studies
al ACC. He will 'eeeive his
BS in May.
Attending the wedding from
Canadian were Mr. and Mrs.
Hercial Adcock, Mr. and Mrs.
W. H. Adcock, Mrs. W. J. Gray,
Mrs. Elmer Keahey, Mr. and
Mrs. C. L. Beaty, Harold Yar-
nold, Averd Parks and Wel-
don Walser.
Mrs. Eva Nix is installed
as Rebekah Noble Grand
Mrs. Eva Nix was installed
as ihe new Noble Grand of
the Canadian Rebekah Lodge
in ceremonies held Thursday
evening. Mrs. Thelma Scott
of Spearman, District Deputy
President, was installing of-
ficer.
Assisting Mrs. Scott were
Mrs. Jackie Hall, Mrs. Mil-
dred Chamberlain. Mrs. Syl-
via Wilcox, Mrs. Thelma Ken-
ny, Mrs. Mary Kirk and Mrs.
Verus Wilbanks. all of Spear-
man and Mrs. Mae Shaull of
Perryton.
Other officers newly install-
ed are Jean Mee, vice-Grand;
Pauline Rivers, recording sec-
retary; Maggie Sutton, finan-
cial secretary; Carrie More-
head, treasurer; Esther Bent-
ley, inside guardian; Jerry
Hopkins, conductor; Martha

the Noble Grand; Agnes Ad-
ams, left supporter to the
Noble Grand; Mamie Jordan,
right supporter to the vice-
Grand; Ethel Poindexter, left
supporter to the vice-Grand;
Vivian Alford, chaplain and
Agnes Adams, musician.
Mrs. Scott was presented
with a gift—a pair of ceramic
swans and Mrs. Rivers, the
outgoing Noble Grand, was
presented with a vase.
The installation ceremony
was preceded by a salad sup-
per.
Others present in addition

and L. E. Wilbanks of Spear-
man.
