Telephone company introduces
new farm inter-com system here
A new farm communica-
tions system that combines
regular telephone service with
an inter-com system for the
farm, chicken ranch or dairy
farm is being introduced here,
George Newberry, Southwest-
ern Bell Telephone Company
manager, announced today.
Known as the Farm Inter-
phone, the system includes a
master phone in the house,
an extension phone in the
barn, milk shed or other farm
building, and a two-way long-
range loudspeaker outdoors.
Additional extension phones
and outdoor speakers can be
added to fit the farm's indi-
vidual needs.
"The Farm Interphone was
specially designed to meet the
needs of farms, rattle ranch-
es, chicken ranches, and dairy
farms," Mr. Newberry said.
"By making it possible to talk
between various farm loca-
tions, it will save valuable
time and steps for the users."
Each phone on the system
has a control button to change
from regular telephone serv-
ice to inter-com calling be-
tween farm locations. Phones
are equipped with loudspeak-
er - microphone units so the
user can talk on the inter-
com without removing the re-
ceiver from the hook.

Oil and Gas
Leases
Is your land available
for oil and gas lease?
If so, contact Carl Stu-
der, Box 488, Phone DA

ing only for major com-
panies in the North Pan-
handle. Quote bonus,
term of laace deiired
and land description in
first letter. Also have
market for royalties and
minerals.
This feature enables the
farmer, for example, to con-
tinue working in the barn
while carrying on an inter-
com conservation with his
wife in the house.
Regular phone calls can be
held on the line while the in-
ter-com is used to talk with
someone at another location
on the farm.
The outdoor loudspeaker-
microphone feature makes it
possible to talk with persons
working outdoors in the farm
yard. For example, the farm-
er's wife can talk to him
while he is working outdoors,
and he can reply, even though
he may be a considerable dis-
tance from the sensitive mi-
crophonee.
"Many adaptations of the
Farm Interphone can be marie
to meet the individual needs
of the farmer," the manager
said.
