upent last Sunday and Monday in
Dalla where Mrs. Deutsch attend-
ed the All-Texas Beauty Show
which whh being hold at the Adol-
phuH Hotel, leading ntylistH from
all over the nation included Miriam
Cord well and Mr. Paul from New
York City, Mr. Albert from Min-
neapolis, Joseph Frederick, James
Victor, John Monuso from Holly-
wood, and many others. All of
thim demonstrated and styled
short hair-do's, stressin* the feet
that the trend would continue to
be short for the coming year.

Held al Dime Box Church
In a candlelight ceremony held
Sunday morning, February 10, nt
the Cxech Moravian ^Brethren
church at Dime Box, Mias Theresa
E. Krenek, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Ed E. Krenek of Dime Box,
became the bride of Michael A,
Duchan, son of Mrs. M. Duchan of
Galveston. Rev. Jack Lewis of
Austin performed the impressive

Dr. Blake Balear of Austin ren-
dered the wedding music and ac-
companied Miss Rose Mary Balear
as she sang, "Oh, How I Love
Him." Attending the couple were
Mrs. Zoe Letia of Houston and
Dr. Jake Labeaux of Austin.
The bride is a graduate 0f Dime
Dox High School and of the Setou
School of Nursing at Austin. The
bridegroom, a jrraduute of Galves-
ton IIikIi School and of the Uni-
versity of Texas, served two years
in the Navy.
Immediately following the recep-
tion at the bride's home, the newly-
weds left on a honeymoon trip t >
New Orleans, La. They will make
their home in Mexico, Missouri.

Mrs. H. F. Mahlmann spent last
week in Houston with Mr. and Mrs.
Mark Brown and little daughter,
Marline, who celebrated her first
birthday Saturday, February 18.
The Drowns accompanied Mrs.
Mahlmann home and spent the
wrek-end here. Mr. and Mrs. James
Turl of Temple also spent the
week-end in the Mahlmann home.

Honored At Birthday Party
On Saturday evening, February
25, Mrs. Lester Williams enter-
tuined with a party for her sister,
Miss Shirley Jean Kuchera, the
occasion being in honor of her
sixteenth birthday.
The table was centered with a
unique birthday cake resembling a
huy wagon with a marshmallow
man in the driver's seat.
Game prises were won by Har-
old Lloyd Boedeker, Donald Wil-
Bowers. Following the games, the
young people enjoyed a hayride,
after which Jean opened the many
nice gifts she received.
Refreshments consisted of tuna
and pimiento sandwiches, potato
salad, olives, cocoanut cake, and
"Cokes."
Guests who came to celebrate
with the honoree were Hurold Lloyd
