Farmers here are having to re-
plant a great deal of their oorn,
owing to the continued oold
weather and heavy rain of two
weeks ago, causing the corn to
rot in the ground. However
with a few days of good weather
it will all be planted and will
likely grow off and produae as
well as the earty planting.

Many Urraers and others can
recall the fact that when the\
were boya on the farm, the farm-
■r who had two spring seats to
¿ut o i hi* waif on for gala davi-
nas considered a for unate and
.veil to-do farmer. Most f.irmer.-
t hen liad only on.* spring seat and
the children sat behind on mere
boards laid across t lie w agon bed.
Then came the farmers who hart
the spring wagon, h smaller wan-
on with springs under it. Then
ihe top carriage and so on. Now
it is the automobile that runs not
only on springs but on cushioned
tires and one automobile costa
about aa much as thirty spring
wagons use to coat. In all of
this we may caten the drift of
protrress and also an explanation
. f the high cost of living. Hut
we have such things now.
