APPROPRIATING EXPENSES FOR FORTY-SECOND
LEGISLATURE.
S. B. NO. 11.] CHAPTER 2.
An Act appropriating the sum of Two Hundred Thousand ($200,000.00)
Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, payable out of the
General Revenue and not otherwise appropriated, to pay the mileage
of members, their per diem, and to pay the salaries and per diem of
officers and employees of the 42nd Legislature of the State of Texas;
and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the sum of Two Hundred Thousand
($200,000.00) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the payment of mileage
and per diem of the members of the Legislature, and the
payment of the salaries of the officers and employees of the
42nd Legislature of the State of Texas.
SEC. 2. Whereas, the 42nd Legislature of the State of Texas
is now in session, and public policy requires that the appropriation
made by this Act shall be made to be immediately
available; therefore, an emergency and an imperative public
necessity exists that the Constitutional Rule requiring bill to
be read on three several days in each House be suspended, and
said Rule is hereby suspended, and this Act shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage, and it is so enacted.
Approved January 16, 1931.
Effective January 16, 1931.

0 nays; passed the House with amendment by a vote of 140
yeas, 0 nays; Senate concurred in House amendment by a vote
of 24 yeas, 0 nays.]
