as follows; beginning at a point in the West line of the Browne
tract, said point being South 8 deg 291 min West 14765.7 feet
from the North point of the Browne tract; thence South 81 deg
29 min East 2384.9 feet to a point in the East line of the Browne
tract; thence North 00 deg 41 min West 3190.1 feet along said
East line; thence North 79 deg 29 min West 1877.0 feet, to a
point on the West line of the Browne Tract; thence South 8 deg
291 min West 3214.8 feet to the point of beginning and containing
155.43 acres, more or less.
The above described district containing 42517.92 acres, more
or less.
SEC. 2. That the original organization and establishment of
Donna Irrigation District, Hidalgo County No. 1, in Hidalgo
County, Texas, by the Commissioners' Court of said County is
hereby approved, ratified and confirmed, and the power and authority
of said Commissioners' Court to create said District for
the purpose of irrigating the arid, semi-arid, and other lands
within said territory needing irrigation and of the drainage of
its overflowed lands, and other lands needing drainage, under
the provisions of Article 3, Section 52, of the Constitution of
Texas, is hereby expressly approved, ratified and confirmed and
the action of the Board of Directors of said District in from
time to time taking in other lands or such other lands being included
within the territory described in Section 1 herein is
hereby expressly approved, ratified and confirmed.
SEC. 3. The order of the Board of Directors of said Donna
Irrigation District, Hidalgo County No. 1, made on the 10th day
of May, 1926, converting said District into a Conservation and
Reclamation District under Section 59, of Article 16, of the Constitution
of the State of Texas, is hereby expressly approved,
ratified and confirmed.
SEC. 4. The management and control of the said Donna Irrigation
District, Hidalgo County No. 1, is hereby vested in a
Board of Directors, which Board shall be composed of five persons
who shall possess the same qualifications and who shall
have the same powers and authority conferred upon the Boards
of Directors of Water Control and Improvement Districts organized
under the provisions of Chapter 25 of the General Laws
of the 39th Legislature of the State of Texas. The five Directors
of said District now in office shall discharge the duties of Directors
of said District during the year 1930 and until their
successors are elected and have qualified in the manner and in
the time provided by said Chapter.
SEC. 5. The said Donna Irrigation District, Hidalgo County
No. 1, shall have and exercise, and is hereby vested with all the
rights. Dowers and privileges of a Water Control and Improvement
District organized under the provisions of and conferred
by the General Laws of this State now in force or to be hereinafter
enacted, providing for the creation and government of
Water Control and Improvement Districts created under authority
of Section 59 of Article 16 of the Constitution, and known as
