diately upon the passage of this Act and the authorization of said
board of trustees, to the treasurer of said board.
SEC. 6. The board of trustees of the Richland Springs Independent
School District is hereby created and constituted a body politic
and corporate in law for free school purposes only, and as such may
contract and be contracted with, saue and be sued, plead and be impeaded
in any court of this State of proper jurisdiction, and ray
receive any gift, grant, donation or devise made for the public
schools of said district, and may take and hold the title to real estate,
or sell any real estate, or other property, found by said board of trustees
not to be necessary for the use of such public schools And the
title, privileges, and rights to any and all property and leases owned,
held, possessed, set apart, or in any way dedicated to the use or
benefit of the public free schools of the said Richland Springs Common
School District No. 11 in San Saba County, Texas, heretofore
vested in the board of trustees of said district, shall be and are herebv
vested in the board of trustees of the said Richland Springs Independent
School District and their successors in office. Also all
debts, bonds. and all other obligations of whatever nature of said
Common School District No. 11 in San Saba County, Texas, are
hereby assumed by the Richland Springs Independent School District.
SEC. 7 The board of trustees of the Richland Springs Independent
District, here created, shall have authority to purchase grounds,
to erect buildings, including a teachera,ge, to repair buildings, to
purchase apparatus, to employ teachers and superintendents, and to
do all other things incident to and necessary in the establishment
and maintenance of an efficient system of schools.
SEC. 8. San Saba Colunty is hereby divested of the control of the
schools, within the territory embraced in the Richland Springs Coimmon
School District, No. 11 in San Saba County, Texas, and the said
Richland Sprinos Independent school District is hereby vested with
the exclusive control of the public schools within said district. And
the board of trustees of the said Richland Springs Independent
School District. hereby created, shall manage, maintain, and control
the public free schools within said district to the exclusion of
every other authority, except in so far as the State Superintendent of
Public Instruction and the State Board of Education may be invested
with supervisory authority to instruct said board as provided
by general law.
SEC. 9. The said Richland SprinEs Independent School District,
hereby c eated, except as herein provided, shall have and exercise,
and is hereby vested with all the rights, powers, privileges, and duties
of a tow'n or village incorporated under the General Laws of this
State for free school purposes only. and the board of trustees for
the sa;d Riehland Springs Independent School District shall have
and exercise and is hereby vested and charged with all the rights,
powers, privileges ard duties that are now conferred and imposed or
may be conferred or imposed by the General Laws of this State upon
the trustees of independent school districts created and organized for
free school purposes only, under the General Statutes of this State.
