CREATING THE DUMAS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
IN MOORE COUNTY.
H. B. No. 417.] CHAPTER 146.
An Act amending Section 1, Chapter 70, of the Acts of the Thirty-sixth
Legislature, Third Called Session, entitled "Creating an independent
school district, to be known as the Dumas Independent School District,"
etc., by re-defining and adding to the Dumas Independent
School District all the territory now embraced in Common School District
No. 1 of Moore County, Texas, and adding thereto Section la,
divesting the said Common School District No. 1 of the control of the
public free scholos in said District No. 1 and investing the said Dumas
Independent School District with full control of the public free schools
within the limits of said independent district, as herein defined; and
declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Section 1, Chapter 70, Acts of the Thirtysixth
Legislature, Third Called Session, be amended so as to
hereafter read as follows:
Section 1. That the Dumas Independent School District is
hereby re-defined and re-established in Moore County, Texas, including
within its limits that certain territory hereinafter described
by metes and bounds, and said metes and bounds of said
district as herein re-defined and re-established shall hereafter
read as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Survey No. 97, in Block
44, H.
Thence north five miles to the N. W. corner of Survey 181,
same block;
Thence west along section lines to a point in the north line
of Section 173, Block 44, said point being at the intersection of
the west line of Moore County, with the north line of Survey
173;
Thence north with the west line of Moore County to the N.
W. corner of said county, which corner is located within the,
boundaries of Survey 25, Block Q, I.
Thence east with the north line of Moore County to a point
in the north line of said Moore County, and where said county
line intersects the east line of Section 90, in Block 3T, T.
Thence south along section lines to a point in the north line of
Section 440, in Block 44, H.
Thence east along section lines to the N. E. corner of Section
No. 441, said Block 44;
Thence south nine miles, along the east line of Block 44, to the
S. E. corner of Survey 273, said Block 44;
Thence east crossing Survey 22, Block Ml, B. C. Campbell
and to the S. W. corner of Survey 240, Block 3T., T.
