ated by this Act, shall have and exercise and is hereby vested
with all the rights, powers, privileges and duties of common
county-line school districts incorporated under the General Laws
of this State, and the board of trustees of the said district shall
have and exercise all the rights, powers, privileges and duties
conferred and imposed by the General Laws of Texas upon the
trustees of the common school districts incorporated under the
General Laws of the State. Jurisdiction over the said district is
hereby vested in Williamson County.
SEC. 4. It is hereby expressly provided that all current contracts
for the maintenance of the schools of the territory herein
incorporated are hereby validated for the said Common CountyLine
School District No. 37, in all respects.
SEC. 5. The crowded condition of the calendar and the inadequate
public free school facilities of the territory hereby incorporated
for free school purposes only, creates an emergency and
an imperative public necessity that the constitutional rule requiring
bills to be read on three several days be suspended, and the
same is hereby suspended, and this Act shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and it is so enacted.
[NOTE.-The enrolled bill shows that the foregoing Act passed
the House, 114 yeas, 0 nays; passed the Senate, 31 yeas, 0 nays.]

CREATING THE KIRBYVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN JASPER AND NEWTON COUNTIES.
H. B. No. 402.] CHAPTER 139.
An Act to amend Section 1 of Chapter 85, House Bill No. 81, enacted
by the Thirty-sixth Legislature at its Third Called Session, creating
the Kirbyville Independent School District in Jasper and Newton
Counties, Texas; correcting certain errors in the metes and bounds
of said district, adding thereto Section la validating bonds of said
district, and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Chapter No. 85, House Bill
No. 81, enacted by the Thirty-sixth Legislature at its Third
Called Session, entitled "An Act creating the Kirbyville Independent
School District in Jasper and Newton Counties, Texas,"
be amended so as hereafter to read as follows:
That the Kirbyville Independent School District is hereby
created and established in Jasper and Newton Counties, Texas,
as containing within its limits the following described territory,
to-wit:
Beginning on the north boundary line of Section No. 66 where
the Jasper and Newton County line crosses the same;
Thence west on the north boundary line of Section No. 66 to
