FOR CONGRESS
"HE THINKS LIKE US
ii
Dear Fellow Cherokeean:
Over five months ago I started on a journey that will come
to a successful conclusion on Saturday, June 5.
There are over 461,000 East Texans in our First Congressional
District. To be the Congressman of all of the people of the
First District, I needed to acquaint myself with those who knew
the least about me and my family.
The people of Cherokee County realized this, and on May 1
gave us a tremendous vote -- the highest percentage qiven any
candidate in his home county. V'ithout such support from home,
no man can aspire to public office. I deeply appreciate it.
As this campaign began for me in Cherokee County, I look
forward to returning home and visiting with everyone on Friday,
June 4 on the grounds of Lon Morris College in Jacksonville
at 7:00 p.m. at a free home-made lee Cream Supper.
Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you, and
urging you to please go vote on Saturday, June 5.
